Today I have been completing some research in to newspaper website and I have done this by looking on the internet at both local and national newspapers. This way I was able to see what is similar about the websites and what is different. I found that in local newspapers websites it is more personal to the audience and is related to issues and stories about the local area. And with national newspapers they have a wider range of subjects and articles because they have a larger target audience. By completing this research I have found that people use newspaper websites to fit in with her lifestyle and new needs, for example people are about to look at the newspapers websites online via a smartphone, ipad, laptop and computer. Once I had collected all of the information I need for my research I then went on a created a video to display my work. I chose to use the program imovie, this is because it allows me to layout my work in different formats. For example, I used text, video of me speaking, pictures and a voice over. When completing my media coursework I will be using different forms of new media to lay out my work. 

Newspaper Websites

I have created a video which includes my research in to newspaper websites and the importance of them. I have found that most newspapers in modern society now have websites and it important for newspapers to use forms of new media to meet the target audience changing wants and needs. I have looked in to websites of national newspapers as well as local newspapers and what is similar and the differences. From completing this research I have decided to have my own newspaper website which readers can go on to. As I have learnt from this research that it is important to looking at the wants and needs of the target audience. In order for my newspaper to be successful, I will include forms of new media. As well has having a website I could also include other forms of social networking such as facebook and twitter.

Today I have completed research in to conventions of newspapers. I have found this helpful as it has given me a wider knowledge and understanding on the different features that are normally included in a newspaper. I can then come back to this powerpoint when design and making my newspapers as it will give me a guide to the important things that I must include. I things that I have found out from completing this research is that I need a lead story and this will be seen as the most important feature of the newspaper. I will also need to include all of the most important information at the top of the article as not every one goes on to read the whole article. Its also important in newspapers to gain and keep the audiences attentions, therefore the stories must be of interest to the audience.

History, Publishers, Stories and Newspapers

This is my first piece of research that I have completed on local newspapers. I thought to begin my research it would be good to look in to the history of newspapers and what newspapers are. I found that local newspapers are only published once a week compared to other national newspapers some which are published daily. However publishers are able to use forms of new media such as websites to stay in contact with the audience for local newspapers and publish any new important stories online before the newspaper is published. I have also research in to existing local newspapers and publishers for my local area, I found this very useful as I was able to gain more knowledge and information about local newspapers which will help me later when coming to create my newspaper. I also looked in the the influences on different types of stories and what stories are currently shown in local newspapers. This is very important as I have been able to see that education and sports are popular news stories and I could include stories on these in my newspaper.
